I want this to be perfect. I want you to read this years from
now and admire the clarity and eloquence in which I wrote,
but I can't find the words to express exactly how I feel. I
remember the good times and the bad, the friends met and
made, and the experiences we've shared. I remember the
teachers who've made us laugh, made us cry, made us work,
and made us try. Sometimes we would be so frustrated we
would just want to quit, but there was always someone to
encourage us or inspire us and we always got our second
wind. It's been a long haul, at times a trying journey, but I'm
glad that we were all there together to help each other along.
Whether by pushing or pulling, we've led or followed one
another to success. I'll leave you with this thought, as a class
we're done but the memories we've shared and the gratitude
we feel will be held forever inside. Someday, maybe you'll look
back at these images, these pictures, these faces, you'll read
what I've written and smile.

ngratulations to the class of 1996 for reaching this major milestone in
lr life. I hope it will be only one of many that you will achieve as you
itinue to face the challenges and possibilities that await. As you look
:ad, we hope you will take a moment to remember all the friends and
:hers who have encouraged and supported you. We hope the lessons
1 have learned from your classes and your classmates will serve you well
/ou pursue your goals and dreams. We will remember all the contribu-
is you have made to your school and your community, and we will look
ward to hearing about the contributions you will continue to make to the
rid beyond these walls.

Dr. Papagiotas

the Members of the Class of 1996

as been one of the great joys of this job to watch you as you have grown
1 matured through your years here at West Bridgewater. Your efforts
1 energy will serve as an example for all the classes that follow. We take
de in your accomplishments and know that you will continue to make us
iud. You face a world in transition; your skills and talents can make a
ference. May you share all that has been given to you and may your
mories be as pleasant as our memories of you. You have become part
our school family, and as a family you will always be welcome here.

Mr. Broman

Mr. Broman and Dr. Papagiotas
Dean of Students and Principal

To the Class of 1996 - Congratulations! You have achieved so much thus
far on your journey through life and you have miles to explore. Jazz
musician and composer W. C. Handy said, "Life is something like this
trumpet. If you don't put anything in it, you don't get anything out." It is
Handy ' s philosophy that has made you as successful as you have been. You
have had the experience of working with a sensitive and hard-working staff
along with the support of some wonderful friends and caring parents. All
of this has translated into a terrific school career.

I have enjoyed all our discussions and I believe we have learned from each
other. I continue to encourage you to reach toward your dreams and not be
satisfied with less. It is better to have tried and failed than not to have tried
at all. Even a temporary failure can offer us strength, insight, and inner
motivation. Take risks (reasonable ones) and practice your good decision
making skills. Expand your lessons of life outside of West Bridgewater.

Believe in yourself . . . you have the potential to make a difference.

I wish you much happiness and success!

ZING A!

A grand time for
Pensinger, WB

By Mark Ducharme

ENTERPRISE CORRESPONDENT

WEST BRIDGEWATER —
From the signs that were hang-
ing all over West Bridgewater
High School as well as the at-
mosphere in the school's gym, it
seemed more important that
Lisa Pensinger score her
1,000th career point than the
Wildcats beat Holbrook.

Pensinger, who needed 21
points coming into the game,
reached the cherished milestone
with 13:54 left to play when she
took a pass from Janell Burley
in the lane and buried a turn-
around 12-foot jump shot. She
finished the contest with 32

Wildcats, 63-52

points, leading the Wildcats to a
63-52 victory as Pensinger be-
came the fifth West Bridgewater
girl to score 1,000 points.

Pensinger joins Kim Alden,
Jen Gallagher, Kristen Regan
and Danica Santos as Wildcats
who have scored 1,000 points.

"It was great" said Pensinger.
"My classmates went out of then-
way to make signs for me. I
want to thank them for making
it a great time."

"I think to all of the kids that

was the big thing," said West
Bridgewater coach Steve Barrett,
"for Lisa to get her 1,000th career
point here today, and that was
what they were pointed at."

Pensinger scored 16 points in
each half and was the key in the
Wildcats getting ahead quickly.

"My teammates tried to get me
the ball within the offense and
help me get my 1,000th career,
point in this game," said Pen-
singer.

Holbrook, which lost to West
Bridgewater by 25 when the two
schools met in Holbrook, did their
best to spoil the party.

The Bulldogs, after trailing by
11 in the first half, closed to
within three, 29-26, at halftime
behind, the outside shooting of
Tina Tobin, Molly Higgins and
Kelly Fitzpatrick, negating Pen-
singer's first-half outburst.

Tobin finished with 23 points,
14 in the first half, and had great
success knocking down jump
shots from the wings.

"Give Holbrook a lot of credit
— they shot the lights out," said
Barrett.

The Bulldogs (4-9) kept the
game close for most of the second
half before Pensinger and Burley
took control of the inside, and the
outside shooting of Sarah Barry
broke the game open.

A Pensinger driving layup on
which she was fouled and a put-
back by Burley gave the Wildcats
(15-1) a 60-45 lead with 3:07 left.

"We have gotten progressively
better as the season has gone on,"
said Holbrook coach Mike Con-
nell. This was a six-point game
with six minutea left. West
Bridgewater is able to go nine
players deep while we go six or
seven and we just tired out at the
end."

West Bridgewater, which has
a one-game lead over Sacred
Heart of Kingston in the May-
flower League standings, wants
to keep getting better.

"We have St. Mary's Lyna
coming in on Saturday and we
play Sacred Heart next week,"
said Barrett. "We want to keep
getting better and we can't afford
to stop now."
